Term 4 Information

We are excited to officially welcome you to SwimTech Wangaratta and thank you for your patience in waiting for the Term 4 information.

This is the first time that Mitch and I (Nathan) have purchased and transitioned a swim school to our systems and processes so will make mistakes.

SwimTech is a small family business so it will continue to have the same feel and care that you have come to appreciate. This means that when something goes wrong or could be better we want to know. Please do not wait to pass on feedback, we want to have as many happy customers at SwimTech as possible and make sure children only leave SwimTech once they can swim.

Furthermore, we have already been listening to your feedback from the survey we sent last week (thank you for that)

Here is what you told us you would like to see change:

  • An easy way to manage bookings and makeups

  • Clearer levels and progress reports

  • Consistency of instructors

  • Children not left waiting in class while others swim

So, here is what is changing:

  • No more forfeit lessons when your child is sick: You can now manage absences and book makeups instantly through our parent portal. There is no minimum notice period as we know kids wake up sick or come home from school and lessons just aren’t in the picture that day.

  • Know exactly what your child needs to do to improve: You’ll receive progress feedback every 5 weeks so you know exactly what your child needs to do to move up.

  • Same instructor every week: We’ve full-time staff (and are looking for more) so your child sees the same faces each week. Plus, all your favourite Moore Than Swimming staff who wanted to stay are continuing.

  • Smaller ratios & extra support: Afternoon classes will have two instructors (Teacher + Assistant) so double the attention and support, and preschool morning classes are capped at just 4:1.

This email will lay out some changes to your usual Term 4 structure that we know will allow us to better support your family and swimmers.

The are 3 important changes that I need to make you aware of:

  1. Moving from term based to a continuous enrolment

  2. Your billing is moving from paying each term to a fortnightly direct debit

  3. The price of swimming lessons is increasing

Let me break these down for you.

1. We are moving to a continuous enrolment

The more children swim the faster they improve, so instead of only 40 weeks of swimming each year, all the effort required to re-enrol 4 times a year, having several hundred dollars ready the moment fees are due and then having a break that slows your child's progress. We will simply have continuous lessons every week of the year. (Except for the weeks of Christmas and New Years.)

This means they continue to swim during the school holidays, the summer holidays and the rest of the year.

It also means that makeup lessons last the entire calendar year so no need to rush to get them done in a single term.

2. Your billing is moving from paying each term to a fortnightly direct debit

With the change to continuous enrolment it no longer makes sense for us to charge you by term basis, and the feedback we have from our swim school in Albury is that they find the direct debit easier to budget and simpler.

So instead of asking you to front a large bill each term we will bill you fortnightly via a card on a Sunday.

3. The price of swimming lessons is increasing

Currently the cost of lessons for a new family joining SwimTech is $34.90 per child per week.

To acknowledge your loyalty to Moore than Swimming and for taking a chance with us we are going to give you a special weekly rate of $31.90 if you confirm your enrolment before 6:30pm on the 29th of September.
